The entire dining experience, from the food to the service to the ambience, was exceptional. The focus at Mr. Pollo is clearly on providing top-notch cuisine, bursting with delicious flavors that really hit the spot. What I loved most about dining here was the opportunity to connect with the co-owners, including the talented chef, as they shared their passion for gastronomy and local ingredients. Throughout the evening, I savored each course with delight. From the savory Malta-inspired anchovy fritter served with a zesty Meyer lemon aioli, to the succulent lamb arepa, each dish was a true culinary masterpiece. Their description of the sausage and beans as elevated peasant food and poverty porn was quite off base in my opinion. As for the salt level, I was there on the same night and enjoyed the dishes immensely. The flavors were well-balanced and the simple ingredients used were of high quality. If only those elitist reviewers had taken the time to ask about the dishes, they would have learned about the locally sourced beans and the fine quality sausage. As for their classist remarks, well, maybe they should have focused more on enjoying the delicious food rather than trying to find fault with it.
